The home offers thoughtfully furnished, personalised rooms, many with views over the home’s attractive garden areas, which form part of everyday life for those living here.

As a care home in Frome, our focus remains on creating an environment where life continues with familiarity, reassurance and thoughtful support. Catherine House provides residential, nursing and dementia care with the Frome home made up of three individual households, each created to support people with similar care needs. This means the environment, daily routines and skilled care teams within each household are all tailored to meet the specific needs of the people living here. As a result, residents, who the home fondly refer to as family members,  experience more personalised support in a setting where their needs are better understood and consistently met.

Our aptly named “household” model of care is an approach that seeks to create an environment and care support that closely resembles a traditional home setting for individuals no longer able to live on their own. It aims to foster a sense of belonging, autonomy, and well-being by designing our support and environment to mimic the experience of living at home. Instead of the usual clinical settings, this approach strives to make the people in our care feel like they’re truly at home, surrounded by warmth and familiarity.
