As the seasons change, so does the food we cook. Now that we’re in the colder months, what we’re cooking is more winter-based – comforting, familiar dishes people look forward to at this time of year, like traditional roast chicken dinner, shepherd’s pie, seasonal vegetables, fish and chips (although a firm favourite all year round!).

Food is available all day and all night with the main meals cooked at usual times, but there is no “one time fits all” for when people eat. People choose what they want to eat, when they eat, where they eat, and if nothing on the menu feels right on the day, something else is made. That’s how it is in a home, and that’s how it is here.

Allergen information is available for every meal, and for those who need a texture-modified diet, pureed dishes are shaped and presented so they still look visually like the original meal.

Food is a big part of everyday life. The attention to detail isn’t just about what’s on the plate – it’s about choice, dignity, familiarity and the feeling of sitting down to a meal that still feels like you.  Bon appetite!

Winter Menus

Our winter menus have had a refresh, bringing plenty of choice for the colder months. Each mealtime includes a vegetarian option, lighter dishes for those who prefer something simple, and no fixed eating times. People choose to eat when it suits them, just as they would at home.

If nothing on the menu appeals in the moment, team members simply make something different. Whether it’s a hot meal, soup, a jacket potato or a quick bite, there’s always something available around the clock.

The aim is for mealtimes to feel easy and familiar. Family members decide where to sit, what they fancy, and how much support they’d like. For anyone who needs a texture-modified meal, we prepare it so it still looks like the food they recognise, which often makes everything feel more settled.
